U4 to U8 Soccer Snack Schedule (free, online)
One family per game brings the after-game snack for the littlest teams. Eight games, eight families, done in a day.
How to set it up
For the youngest teams the snack is the whole point of Saturday. The schedule is one row per game with one family on snacks and, if the coach wants, one on drinks. Put the game date and opponent in the row so nobody has to cross-reference the league schedule. With eight to ten games and ten to twelve families, everyone takes one and a couple take two.
The mistake is the group text on Friday night asking who has snacks tomorrow. Post the whole season once, let families pick their game, and the reminder goes out the day before by itself. One tip: put allergies and 'enough for 12, nut-free' in the description, and orange slices are still the right answer.
Questions people ask
- What if a game gets rained out?
- Change the date on the row and everyone on it gets an updated confirmation. The family keeps their game.
- Do parents need the app?
- No app and no account. They open the link on their phone, tap a game, type their name and email, and they're done. The reminder comes the day before.
- Can I paste the league schedule?
- Yes. On the team snacks page you can paste the schedule as text and the games become rows with the right dates.
Why not a paper sheet or a Google Form?
A paper sheet lives in one place and fills up with the first people who walk past it. A Google Form takes forty signups for a row that needed two, and you find out in the spreadsheet. An online sign-up sheet closes each row when it's covered, sends a reminder the day before, and gives every person a link to cancel so the spot reopens. See the side-by-side with Google Forms.
