How to set it up

A soccer snack schedule is one row per game with one family on it. Put the date in the row, post all eight or ten games at once, and families pick the Saturday they know they'll be at. Most teams have ten to fourteen families, so everyone takes one game and a couple of families take two. The page sends a reminder the day before, which is what gets the orange slices to the field.

Write the rules once in the description: how many kids, nut-free, nothing that melts in a hot car, and water for everyone because the team jug runs out by the second half. One tip: put the kickoff time in the description too, so the snack family knows to be there at the start of the game and not just the end.

Questions people ask

The league added two playoff games. How do I add more games to the schedule?
Open the page and use Copy the week forward on the last game, then change the date. Or extend the page by a month and it adds the next Saturdays with the same rows. Families already signed up keep their games, and you can email everyone on the page once to say the new games are open.
What if the snack family can't make their game?
They cancel from the link in their confirmation email and the game reopens on the page with a still needed line. Email everyone from the page and another family usually takes it the same day.
Do parents need an account?
No. They open the link from the group chat, tap a game, type a name and email, and they're done. They get a confirmation right away and a reminder the day before.

Why not a paper sheet or a Google Form?

A paper sheet lives in one place and fills up with the first people who walk past it. A Google Form takes forty signups for a row that needed two, and you find out in the spreadsheet. An online sign-up sheet closes each row when it's covered, sends a reminder the day before, and gives every person a link to cancel so the spot reopens. See the side-by-side with Google Forms.
