How to set it up

A concession stand sheet is a schedule of games with the same jobs under each: someone on the grill, one or two on the window, one on the register, and someone who picks up the supply order that afternoon. Home games get a full crew; tournaments get double. Post the whole season at once, with dates, and put the shift times on each row, because a Friday football stand opens at 5:30, not at kickoff.

The mistake is asking each family to 'work concessions once this season' with no dates. It never gets scheduled and the same four parents do it. One tip: split each game into a first-half and second-half shift. Parents will work a half if it means they can watch the other half, and you'll fill twice as many spots.

Questions people ask

How many people per game?
Five or six for a normal home game: grill, two on the window, register, and a closer. Double it for tournaments and playoffs. Put the count on each row so families see when a game is short.
Should every family be required to work?
Many boosters require one shift a season. If you do, say it on the page and share the link that shows only the open shifts every few weeks. Reminders the day before keep people from forgetting.
Who handles the money?
One person on the register per game, ideally a booster officer or someone who has done it. Add a checkbox at signup, 'I've run the register before', to make scheduling easier.

Why not a paper sheet or a Google Form?

A paper sheet lives in one place and fills up with the first people who walk past it. A Google Form takes forty signups for a row that needed two, and you find out in the spreadsheet. An online sign-up sheet closes each row when it's covered, sends a reminder the day before, and gives every person a link to cancel so the spot reopens. See the side-by-side with Google Forms.
