Office Holiday Potluck Sign Up Sheet (free, online)
Appetizers, mains, sides, desserts and the dietary rows, so the office holiday potluck stops living in a reply-all thread.

How to set it up
The office potluck has a problem no church potluck has: the sign-up sheet is an email chain, and by the third reply nobody knows what is taken. Put it on one link, pin the link in the team channel, and the chain ends. People sign up from their phone in a minute with no account.
Keep counts per category rather than a free-for-all list, and add explicit rows for vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes so the people who need them are not left with crackers. A row for plates and napkins saves someone a run to the store at 11:45.
Questions people ask
- Can I post it in Slack or Teams?
- Yes, it's a link. Paste it in the channel and people sign up from their phone without creating anything. The page shows what's still open so the thread never starts.
- Can two teams or two floors share one sheet?
- Put each team in its own section on the same page, or give each a page. Either way you see the whole menu in one place.
- Do people get reminded?
- Each person gets a confirmation naming their dish and a reminder the day before. If someone's out sick and cancels from the link, the row reopens for the next person.
Why not a paper sheet or a Google Form?
A paper sheet lives in one place and fills up with the first people who walk past it. A Google Form takes forty signups for a row that needed two, and you find out in the spreadsheet. An online sign-up sheet closes each row when it's covered, sends a reminder the day before, and gives every person a link to cancel so the spot reopens. See the side-by-side with Google Forms.
