How to set it up
Breakfast with Santa is a two-shift morning: the 7 am crew that sets up and cooks, and the 9 am crew that serves, runs the photo line and cleans up. A sheet with shifts lets a parent take one, not the whole morning, and that is how you fill it.
Pancakes cook faster with four people on two griddles than with two heroes on one. Put a parent on Santa's line to keep it moving and a parent on the craft table so kids have somewhere to be while they wait. The donation rows at the end (syrup, juice, paper goods) are the easiest ones to fill: people who can't give a morning can drop off a bag.
Questions people ask
- Can we sell tickets through the page?
- The page is for volunteers and donations, not ticket sales. Put your ticket link in the description and use the page for the people who make the morning happen.
- How many volunteers for 150 guests?
- About 25 across the morning: eight on food, six on the floor and photo line, two on tickets, and setup and cleanup crews of six. The counts above are a starting point; change any number.
- Does it fit on a flyer?
- Every page has a printable flyer with a QR code. Parents scan it at pickup and sign up on the spot.
Why not a paper sheet or a Google Form?
A paper sheet lives in one place and fills up with the first people who walk past it. A Google Form takes forty signups for a row that needed two, and you find out in the spreadsheet. An online sign-up sheet closes each row when it's covered, sends a reminder the day before, and gives every person a link to cancel so the spot reopens. See the side-by-side with Google Forms.
