One page can hold every event you run: the fall festival, the book fair, the holiday party and anything else. Volunteers get one link, see everything, and sign up once for as many things as they like.
How the page is laid out
Your page is made of lists. Each event is one list, and each list has rows: the shifts, jobs or things to bring for that event.
- A list On a date holds shifts with a date and, if you like, a start and end time.
- A Jobs list holds duties with no set time.
- A Things to bring list holds items, where one person can bring several.
When your lists fall on different days, volunteers see each event as a card with its date on it. They tap a card to open it, tick the spots they want, and sign up once at the bottom.
Open the editor
- Go to your dashboard and click the page.
- Click Edit.
On the left you change the page. On the right you see what volunteers will see, updating as you type. Nothing changes for volunteers until you click Save changes.
Add an event
- Scroll below your last list to Add another list and click On a date.
- Name the list after the event, for example "Book Fair".
- On each row, type what you need ("Morning shift", "Cashier"), pick the date and times, and set how many people.
- Click + Add slot for each further shift.
- Click Save changes.
If the event also needs things brought in, add a second list: Add another list, then Things to bring, and name it "Book Fair · things to bring".
Change an event
- Rename it: type over the list name.
- Change a time or a count: edit the row. Everyone who signed up stays signed up.
- Add a shift: click + Add slot inside the list.
- Repeat it a week later: click Copy +1 week on the list.
- Add a description: type it in the box right under the event name ("Come represent your heritage and share your culture, food and fashion!"). Volunteers see it under the event's name on the page.
Remove an event or a shift
Click Remove list to remove a whole event, or the ✕ on a row to remove one shift.
If nobody has signed up for it, it is simply removed. If people have signed up, the page shows who they are and asks you to confirm, because removing it cancels their spots and they are not told. See Change a page after it's live.
Let the assistant do it
At the top of the editor you can type a change in plain words, such as "add a Book Fair the week of November 9 with a morning and an afternoon shift each day". The assistant shows a before and after, and you choose whether to apply it. See Change a page with the assistant.
Share one event on its own
Every event also has its own link. On the page's dashboard, open Links to one event and copy the link for that event. It opens the same page with only that event expanded, which is handy for a flyer or a classroom email.
Delete a page you no longer need
If you built separate pages before moving everything onto one, you can delete the old ones yourself. See Delete or archive a page.
Publish
A new page starts as a draft that only you can see. Click Publish page on its dashboard when it's ready, then share the link. You can keep editing after it's published.
Past events
Events that are over move into a folded Past dates list at the bottom of the page, with who signed up for each. You don't need to delete them.
