On the Edit screen of any page, the box at the top lets you describe a change instead of making it by hand.
How to use it
- Open the page from your dashboard and click Edit.
- In Ask the assistant to make a change, type what you want. For example:
- "Add a Book Fair the week of November 9 with a morning and an afternoon shift each day, 2 people each."
- "Move the Holiday Party to December 18, same times."
- "Add a things-to-bring list for the Fall Festival: 10 bags of candy, 4 folding tables."
- "Every Fall Festival shift needs 6 people, not 4."
- Click Show me the change.
What you see
The assistant shows a before and after: each list and row it would add, change or remove, with the old version and the new one side by side.
- Apply to the editor puts the change into the editor below, where you can look it over and adjust it.
- Discard throws the proposal away. Your page is untouched.
Applying is not saving. Nothing changes for volunteers until you click Save changes at the bottom. After applying, Undo the change puts the editor back the way it was.
Sign-ups are protected
The assistant can see how many people are signed up for each row, and it keeps them unless you ask it to remove something.
- Renaming, re-timing or changing a count keeps every sign-up.
- If a proposal would remove a row or a list that has sign-ups, the before and after marks it in red with the number of sign-ups it cancels.
- Even after you apply it, saving still asks you to confirm any sign-ups that would be cancelled.
If it asks a question
When a detail is missing, such as a date or how many people, the assistant asks instead of guessing. Add the answer to your request and click Show me the change again.
Limits
Free accounts get 3 requests in total, shared with the page builder; Pro includes 50 a day. The assistant changes lists, rows, the title, description, location and questions. Settings such as reminders, language and layout are changed by hand under More options.
