You can edit a page at any time, live or not. Click Edit on the page's dashboard, make the change, and click Save changes. The link volunteers use stays the same, and nothing changes for them until you save.
Changes that keep every sign-up
- Renaming the page, a list or a row.
- Changing a date or a time.
- Raising or lowering how many people a row needs.
- Adding a list or a row.
- Changing the description, notes, questions, reminders or any setting under More options.
Two things to know:
- Lowering a count below the number already signed up doesn't remove anyone. The row just shows as full.
- Changing a date or time keeps the sign-ups but does not tell the volunteers. The editor reminds you before you save. Afterwards, use Email everyone on the page's dashboard.
The one change that cancels sign-ups
Removing a row or a list removes the sign-ups on it. The volunteers are not told.
The editor makes this hard to do by accident:
- Every row with sign-ups shows how many people are on it and their names.
- If you click ✕ on such a row, or Remove list on a list that has sign-ups, you are asked to confirm.
- Above the Save changes button, a red box lists every sign-up that saving would cancel. You have to tick the box to save.
Until you save, nothing is lost. To back out, press Put them back in the red box: the rows return with everyone on them, and your other edits stay.
If a date has passed, you don't need to remove it. Past events fold away on their own.
Telling people about a change
Use Email everyone on the page's dashboard to send one message to every volunteer who signed up. It goes from the page, with your name, and every recipient can reply to you.
Taking a page down
Unpublish turns the page back into a private draft; the link shows a "not open" message and every sign-up is kept. Close signups keeps the page visible but stops new sign-ups. Archive takes the page offline and moves it to the bottom of your dashboard, with every sign-up kept. Nothing is deleted unless you choose Delete page; see Delete or archive a page.
