If you're the parent who said yes to coordinating volunteers for the spring musical, this is the list of lists you're about to need.
The lists
- Rehearsal snacks. One or more families per rehearsal, for six to ten weeks. Dated, no clock time.
- Rides home. After late rehearsals, a few drivers per night. Dated, with a time.
- Crew roles. Costume lead, set painting, program and tickets, photographer. No date; they run the whole production.
- Performance days. Ushers, concessions and backstage helpers for each show, plus strike after the last one. Dated, with times.
- Things to bring. Cases of water, folding tables, a fog machine somebody's uncle owns. Countable, with a quantity needed.
The problem with one sheet per list
Five lists means five links in the newsletter. A family that wants to help in three places signs up three times and gets three emails. When you need to know who's coming Friday, you open three tabs.
Put them on one page
On JustSignup those five lists sit on one page. A parent scrolls, checks snacks on the 8th, a ride on the 15th, and concessions on opening night, enters a name and email once, and gets one confirmation with one link to change any of it. You get one coverage view that shows what's filled and a one-click message for what isn't.
The school production template has all five lists ready. Change the dates, fix the numbers, publish.
